 a consumer-capitalist society means to have the freedom to choose, to have more options in their purchases. There are so many factors that influence the choice such as prices, discounts, additional gifts and other external factors. Internal factors will be the product itself, how good is the product, quality and durability.

2. What does it mean in terms of hegemon
The term "hegemony" refers to the leadership, dominance or great influence that one entity or group of people has over others

Modern uses of "hegemony" often refer to a group in a society having power over others within that society. For example, the wealthy class might be said to have hegemony over the poor because of its ability to use its money to influence many aspects of society and government.


3 Why is it important for hegemony that we don't question its legitimacy? Why don't we?

Hegemony is leadership by power and the ones in power tend to think that their ways are the only right ways despite making little sense. Therefore, questioning its legitimacy may result in controversy and it is easier to control people who are submissive and follows whatever the person in power says.

The reason people usually do not question its legitimacy is the fear that we may end up jeopardizing our lives. It is of human nature to feel more comfortable being with a group of people rather than being alone and this leads to conformity. Furthermore, humans in general prefer to avoid conflicts especially in things that are out of their control.

4. What is "the paradox of choice"?

 More choices lead to lower overall sales. That makes no sense in the narrow rationality often used in economic models, and some evidence suggests it might not actually be true.

How american television portrayed is that they show white people as a main actor, the one who will win the competition , besides that, they also portrayed that the one who lose is the black people, asian or indian. white people always seen as a hero. but nowadays we can see a changes, like oprah winfrey show, Barrack Obama.

2. What is the American Dream and how has it been portrayed on television? Who has it excluded and why?

American is identic with white people, their dream is to have successful politic, economy and etc. so they always show that their country is commonwealth country and has a super power, they also portray their army has a very powerful impact .

Minority group such as black people were excluded, because at that time, black people was a slave and they think that black people was not a part of american dream.

3. How do media representations of class reflect the larger social system and social inequality?

The media representations of class as a reflection of the larger social system and social inequality is somewhat true. The only difference is that media tends to over-exaggerate certain points but that is how they make things clear. However, there are times when they portray a form of biasness, such as having the white men having all the power and the minorities and having little to no power.

Furthermore, media representations of class happen to be encouraging their portrayals in real-life situations rather than spreading awareness regarding it.

4. How is the working class portrayed when it has been represented?

 They show that working class always busy with their job, and try to fulfill boss's desire, have to complete their task , at that time, they have to control their financial tightly because their income is not much .

5. What are the struggles faced in trying to get a show about working class people on TV?

They have to take both family and complete their work, which sometimes, it can be contradict to each other such as the time management, life principles, etc .

 6. How are race and gender intertwined with class on TV?

 white people are often shown to be rich, high integrity and classy kind of people where as the minorities are often shown to be poor, non educated, criminals, etc.

 Men shows as the hero, leader, who have a strong impact, while woman portrayed as, weak person, not that smart compare to men.

Mass media will have an effect to individuals who watch the show, when mass media portrayed certain behavior or culture, there is a possibility that audiences will watch and follow, because they want to keep updated.

Mass media has a big effect of my life, it told us what was happening and tell us how is the condition of social world right now , tell us whats the life style that is going on . and also give opportunity to business world.

There is positive and negative effect, but the positive effect is greater .  such as gathering information and research, . besides that, mass media give a big chance for advertising company to grow and promote their advertisement .

yes, television did change about family life, it tell us what has happened in over the world, such as crime, kidnapping case, etc, indirectly it will make family more aware about their safety. spread of internet has the same effect to family, it will make parents more aware about their children .

Internet, because eveyday internet really helps our daily activities, internet can help our study, business and etc .

1.The impact is that, if political owner the media company, media will portrayed the issues based more on the sources form that related political party, means that, the news that they deliver to audience, possibly not show the real situation.

2.There are 3 role

First is To enhance company image and reputation, which is media portrayed the image and performance about certain companies to show to the public about the images of company. second role is political role, which is political party use the media to campaign their performance, so that audience will support their party and the last is selling the products, because nowadays, people live with the internet, so it is a appropriate medium to advertise their product

 I am 18 years old guy, going to be 19 yo this November, i really like to have fun and hangout with my friends. Beside that, i really love fashion and automotive. friends, fashion and automotive is really important in my life . i want all that aspect always be in my life .

DREAMS

I used to want to be a Pilot ! , but now, that dream has been erased from my mind, my dream is very simple, i just want to have a happy life and enjoy my life until the rest of my life such as Own and drive red ferrari, travelling around the world, buy penthouse in Dubai, collect all mercedes benz cars, own all branded clothes. besides that, i want to spent my money to help other people who is not lucky enough like me. ASPIRATIONS

I COME FROM

Im come from Jakarta city, which is located in Indonesia. It is a very big city and so lively. Life there never stops for 24 hour, there are so many high building, almost similar with Kuala Lumpur. The most differences are the size of the city is more bigger and untidy compare Kuala Lumpur . Traffic condition in Jakarta is very jam almost every time and everywhere , However i like Jakarta because i have so much fun there with my friends, good memories and the place where i grow up. Moreover, Jakarta has so many nice car, i like to see the car there.

My Childhood

My childhood was very fun, im the middle son, i have one big brother and little sister. i really hate mathematics since i was a kid, I like to go traveling with my family and friends, its very fun. i went to zoo, theme park, go to park and had fun there . When i was a kid i really hate to go to school, i do not like to do the homework from the teacher and i am very lazy to study for test, so my mother always help me to memorize all the materials. some more i have to get up early in the morning and my either my mother or father will send me to school, i was very sleepy. that was the reason why i hate to school . haha :)

Family Conditions

 My Family is a Normal family, both happiness and fighting happened in my family. my father is a strict person but he is very nice to all of us, he really cares about what we need, and what i like from him is, he is not stingy haha, he will give everything as long as i need it but when he is angry, it is so scary, so we better silent and wait until he calm down. My mother is a very caring girl, she really concern on every detail, she prepare milk and breakfast everyday, and always ask their kids to eat vitamin, etc . she is a funny girl and very talkative . However, sometimes my parents will argue about a problem but usually they could solve the problem soon.







My most unforgettable experiences


1.Graduated from senior high school 

As i have told all of you before, i really hate mathematics i hate the teacher and the subject . i really hate the one who found mathematics. Every grade in my study there was always mathematics. So, one day after i did  my final exam in high school i feel very happy and so released, first think comes out in my mind is " Oh thanks God, no math in my life anymore !! ". I jumped and raise my hands in the air for many times. Unfortunately we still have to wait for one month to see our result whether we graduated from high school or not.  At the announcement day, all of us sat together in a big conference room, the dean of my school stated that all of use officially graduated from senior high school. Suddenly all of our face turn into smile. I am very happy, i feel like i start my new life, no more school . then we all do our graduation ceremony, feels so proud :)


2. Holiday to Malaysia & Singapore

After i finish my senior high school, im going to find a school either to Malaysia or Singapore, I bought the ticket to malaysia & Singapore for the total journey are eleven days. Without any intention, i simply ask my best friend, his name is Andre, whether he want to go with me and join ? . Im so shocked, he wanted to join, because he was looking for a university at that time. suddenly all my group in high school they also wanted to join us to go for holiday and looked for a university. After the final exam finish, we had a long holiday, so ten of us went to Malaysia and Singapore, we went to many places such as Genting highlands, Sunway in Malaysia, some more, we went to Universal studios, Sentosa Island in Singapore. That was very fun, we always go out from the hotel every night, found a cafe to sit and chat. our eleven days is really filled by fun and happiness. unfortunately we were on the last day, we have to go back to Indonesia, However, i will never miss this moment.









3 Study In Malaysia

After i have been graduated from senior high school, i went to business school in Jakarta, it was a very hard course for me, i don't really like the environment, because the campus was located in a new developed area, so, it was hard to go anywhere, not much entertainment and have to go far to find a food. at that time i rent a house there, because it is quite far from my house, need to go through highway, so i prefer stay there to save time and money. But, the result was, it made me frustrated and very stress. At the end of the first semester, i decided to move to Malaysia as i saw my brother had stayed there

and seems that he enjoyed his university life . One semester has been done, i was on holiday, i decided to go Malaysia and Singapore again to see university, then i found that Sunway college was located in nice area, very convenient to go any places such as shopping mall, theme park, food court, etc. After 5 days looked for a university, i went back to Jakarta. I decided to choose Sunway University, so i prepared all the required documents and went to Sunway, i stay in Indah villa condo, because the location is quite near to both Sunway Pyramid & College. I study my new course that was Communication. it has been around six month i stayed in Malaysia, i learn so many new things, i learn about cultural differences, new language and try adapt in new society. i feel that this experiences are very meaningful and made my self become more mature. It is very happy to move to the new country and study with the different atmosphere :)
